Water is like gold to Bishopstowe residents. They say this is because they have been plagued by constant water outages since December.

Speaking to The Witness, the residents said they were told that Msunduzi Municipality owes Umgeni Water and Umgeni had decided to restrict their water supply. Electricity outages were also to blame for the water outages, they said.

The residents said the devastating December storms made their lives even worse. Businesses in the area have been affected and many are struggling to survive with the ongoing water and electricity outages.
