Vipin Sharma, brother of notorious criminal Lavkush Sharma, who had come to loot a petrol pump at BIT Mesra area of capital was arrested by the police along with his associates on Thursday late evening. After getting information about this case, Ranchi Police investigated and took five people including Vipin Sharma, brother of notorious criminal Lavkush Sharma into custody. Three of them were released after questioning. Apart from Vipin, second criminal Rohit Oraon too was held by police.
The arrested criminal Vipin Sharma was an accomplice in the murder of land trader Kalu Lama in Morhabadi on 22 January this year. Vipin Sharma had fled to Bihar after carrying out the murder incident. At present, the police are interrogating all these people in the police station.
In January this year land broker and criminal Kalu Lama was killed while two Raju Lama, Sohan Vishwakarma sustained injuries after four miscreants riding on two motorbikes opened more than six rounds of fire on a car passing through Morhabadi ground in the high security zone of the capital.
The hand of the Luv Kush Sharma gang was suspected in the incident of broad daylight shoot out in the high-security zone in which Kalu Lama was killed.
Lama, the deceased was wanted in as many as 18 cases of crimes registered at different police station areas of the city while injured Vishwakarma is wanted in as many as six cases of crime in different parts of the city.
The ferocity of Lama can be assessed by his actions. He was arrested on April 15, 2020, but on April 16 he escaped from police custody. However, on April 20, 2020, he was arrested with six aides. with a country-made automatic pistol, three country-made single-shot firearms, three cartridges besides other materials.
Meanwhile, in another development on Thursday evening, the State police recovered Rs 5.03 lakh counterfeit notes from a location near Fun Castle under Ratu police station area.
The recovery took place from the possession of Mohammed Sohrab, a resident of Bind Mohalla, about 100km from Jharkhand capital in Chatra district.
The breakthrough came after senior superintendent of police Surendra Kumar Jha got a tip off from one of these sources. Sohrab informed the police that counterfeit notes were being used in the business of opium and two more persons, Saddam and Fuzail, are involved in the business. Police are questioning Sohrab to know the sources of counterfeit notes.
